Our Story
History of Beautiful One Aesthetics
In honor of her beloved aunt and mentor to Amy Street, this business is named for Aunt Lydia. The definition of Lydia’s name is “Beautiful One” and that she was - both inside and out.
Ever since she was a young girl, Lydia watched her mother do hair at their family salon and dreamed of becoming a hairstylist. Lydia fulfilled this dream by owning and working at several salons.
This site, formally “Lydia’s Salon”, was where she built a very special community around her clients who became like family. For the past several years, as Amy Street started her lash business here upstairs, Lydia was a constant source of inspiration and such a blessing to her.
This “Steel Magnolias” style salon was full of stories - both happy and sad - lots of laughter and sometimes tears. Lydia had a good listening ear, gave words of encouragement, and was eager to share her love of Jesus. EVERYONE WHO LEFT THE SALON FEELING BEAUTIFUL , LOVED AND ENCOURAGED.
This is our same desire for you as you walk through these doors. We count it a privilege that you chose to come here, and we want YOU to feel beautiful, loved and encouraged.

With 17 years in the beauty industry, Amy’s passion for aesthetics began early—but motherhood reshaped everything. After having her son, she felt what so many women feel: a sense of losing herself while caring for everyone else. Rebuilding her own confidence through skincare and self-care rekindled her purpose—and ignited her mission. Today, Amy is committed to making high-quality aesthetics accessible, affordable, and empowering for every woman in Bear, Delaware and beyond. She believes beauty isn’t vanity—it’s wholeness. When women feel good in their skin, they show up stronger in every role they carry. Inspired by her Aunt Lydia—whose kindness, mentorship, and deep client connections shaped her early years—Amy built Beautiful One Aesthetics to be more than a medspa. It’s a family. Kate's approach blends technical precision with an intuitive, artistic eye. Before becoming a permanent makeup artist, Kate spent years as a professional hairstylist and makeup artist, honing her understanding of color theory, symmetry, facial structure, and natural enhancement. Every brow stroke and every lip shade is chosen with intention — crafted to elevate your unique features, not mask them. Kate trained in advanced nano techniques with Tien at Zazen Beauty, one of the most respected artistry studios in the region. That education shaped her passion for hyper-realistic, natural results that boost confidence and make your daily routine effortless. After taking time away to become a mom, Kate returned to the beauty world with a deeper appreciation for connection, creativity, and the power of feeling good in your own skin. The studio is designed to be a cozy, welcoming space where women can relax, recharge, and leave feeling seen, empowered, and a little more magical.
